According to a recent announcement by the FAA, investigations have begun to determine ways in which the rules regarding the use of electronic mobile devices and tablets may be altered to better suit the needs of both the airlines and travelers. Great news for business travelers who have a serious addiction to their mobile devices. However, don’t get too excited: “The FAA will form a committee this fall to study the issue for six months and then make recommendations. The FAA often uses such Aviation Rulemaking Committees when it is considering changes, and their deliberations often last months, sometimes years.”
Who knows what we’ll all be using a year or two from now when these recommendations finally come out? At that point, we wouldn’t be surprised if we’re all using telekinesis to call each other via surgically implanted Verizon brain chips. Stay tuned, we’ll keep you updated at some point next year!
