One of the best things about summertime is the sheer abundance of music festivals. If you haven’t been to one, put it on your must-do list. If you’ve been, you understand just why these are so awesome. You’ll enjoy live music over several days, bask in the sunshine in an anything-goes atmosphere and let live tunes wash over you. Here are the top summer music festivals worth attending this year:

Forecastle

Music fans head to Louisville’s gorgeous Waterfront Park to watch their favorite indie bands perform. Enjoy a landscaped park, food trucks galore and the great city of Louisville, Kentucky. You’ll especially love learning more about Louisville’s largest drink contribution: bourbon. Head to the Bourbon Lodge to literally taste what this is all about. This year, attendees can look forward to Sam Smith, My Morning Jacket and Modest Mouse. Stay at PC Housing in Louisville, and get super close to the action

Summerfest

Milwaukee’s Summerfest is 11 days long, features more than 800 artists and billed as the “largest music festival in the world,” with about 900,000 people attending. Take a minute to let that sink in. Once you’ve done that, head to the 75-acre Henry Maier Festival Park on Lake Michigan to enjoy live tunes and lake breezes. Try out local cuisine, see fireworks, comedy acts and even go shopping at this extravaganza. Catch artists like rapper Kendrick Lamar, rockers Kings of Leon, country artists Zac Brown Band, Florida Georgia Line and Keith Urban. Check out housing options in Milwaukee here.

Coachella

In recent years, Indio, California’s Coachella has become the hottest music festival around. In two weekends—this year on April 10-12 and again on April 17-19—attendees can expect AC/DC, the Alabama Shakes, Jack White and Drake. If you’d prefer not to camp, you can stay in Palm Springs. See if you can spot a celebrity and enjoy food from Los Angeles’ top restaurants here. If you really feel like going all out, splurge for the outdoor, truly farm-to-table experience that is Outstanding in the Field. Check out housing options in Palm Springs.

Firefly Music Festival

Firefly is going to be epic this year seeing as legendary Paul McCartney will be performing on Friday. If that doesn’t sell you at this June 18 to 21 festival held in The Woodlands in Dover, Delaware, also features Kings of Leon, The Killers, Morrissey and Snoop Dogg. When you need to rest after a long day, check out this list of great temporary housing in Dover.

Bottom line? See one of these festivals, and you won’t regret it. And if you don’t have friends to stay with near the venue but would love to stay somewhere that feels like home – consider PC Housing to meet your short-term housing needs. You’ll discover a wide variety of comfortable dwellings you’ll look forward to coming back to after a long day at the festival. Here’s to great summer music!
