San Diego in the springtime is a glorious sight. The flowers bloom, the weather is perfect and the tourists and locals alike flock to the numerous beach neighborhoods that dot the coastline. Ranging from Del Mar, Solana Beach and La Jolla to popular tourist hotspots Mission Beach, Pacific Beach and Coronado Island. This leaves a large part of San Diego undiscovered and a lot of area undercover when looking for corporate housing San Diego and places to hang out.

Before venturing to the beaches or downtown to check out the sights, consider going into the heights of San Diego. Some great neighborhoods to check out include North Park, South Park, University Heights, Normal Heights and the Hillcrest areas.

Here are some recommendations for venturing into the heights:

North Park.
Check out Claire de Lune on University and 30th (roughly). Claire de Lune is a local, independent and eclectic coffee shop that serves up the best pastries and delectable drinks, that will leave your taste buds wanting more. Claire de Lune also hosts bands and the atmosphere is enjoyable seven days a week.

South Park.
On the corner of Juniper and 30th some feel the magnetic pull. Others don’t. Those people sucked into her living room become part of a diverse family, a hodge-podge group proud to call Rebecca’s Coffee House home. Yes, the smell of scones baking in the oven travels out the doors. Freshly ground, brewing coffee is rich and pungent in the surrounding air. But so much more pulls family members through the doors. Seated on a comfy couch, feel the warmth radiating off the sunny, yellow walls and the colorful artwork that makes this space so bright. Change is welcome here, from a fluctuating crowd of familiar faces and first time visitors, to daily featured coffees and Rebecca’s homemade scones bursting with the freshest local ingredients… visit again and again.

Hillcrest.
Ono Sushi, located at 1236 University Ave, is the perfect destination to take a date in San Diego. The atmosphere is relaxed and laid back, but at the same time hip and classy. The fish served is always fresh and they offer nightly specials. The menu is extensive and delicious and I recommend, no I demand that you try their Tempura Fried Vanilla Ice Cream.
