As a corporate traveler, chances are there is one thing that you are never without: your smartphone. Lugging a computer around is impractical; even a small tablet interferes in the constant interchanges throughout the day of a busy professional constantly on the go. Rarely will you have the time to sit and search for travel solutions. With the quick touch of the screen, using smartphone apps provides timely access to much needed guidance at your fingertips. It’s no secret that apps are lifesavers to… well, anyone on the go, but there are some apps corporate travelers can’t live without. If you haven’t heard of these, check them out now!

TextGrabber App

  1. SeatGuru: Time to fly! This app from TripAdvisor provides the ability to not only find, but also compare prices of flights from leading airlines and travel agencies. Conveniently set up alerts that track your flight departure and arrival times and explore seat maps by photos.

  2. Gogo Inflight Internet: Itching to get some work done while in flight? Why waste those precious hours staring out the window anyway? This app gives travelers access to free – yes FREE – Wifi while in the skies. Did we mention this app is free?

  3. TextGrabber: Some corporate travelers prefer to spend their flights reading a magazine and resting – work will come later. This app allows users to quickly snag text right off a page to save within their phones. This is a handy tool for business meetings with too many notes to jot down. This app will also translate over 60 languages, edit, speak back, share via e-mail, or post to your social media including Facebook or Twitter. The price for this app is the steepest we found with a cost of $5.99.

  4. STAYconnect Mobile: This app provides a seamless way for hotel guests to utilize the television from their own iPhone or ipad as a remote control. Use the app to power the TV on and off, change channels, control volume, preview and order in-room on-demand movies. It’s not all fun and games though; with StayConnect, users can access services such as room service, guest service requests, and best of all check out of the room. Gone are the days of stopping by the front desk on your way out the door! Cost is just 99 cents.

  5. Uber: Stranded without a ride and no cab in sight? Use this free app and a sedan will pull up within minutes. More costly than a taxi ride, but faster, private, and classier is the best way to roll around a new town.

  6. PicsArt Studio: While traveling, we know you will be snapping away in an effort to capture photos of all the new sights you will encounter (don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone you are a tourist). This app, “where everyone becomes a great artist,” includes a picture editor, drawing feature, artistic effects, social sharing and more.

  7. Sit or Squat: And finally, just for fun, is the app that lets you find a restroom. When you are in a new place and have to go you just don’t have the time to wander around aimlessly looking for a restroom. Use this app to find the closest restroom available to the public. Trust us, this is an app that you will both want and need!
