Last year saw companies begin increasing business travel, a situation that contributed to an increase in air fares throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Travel Blackboard says air fares rose three percent in 2010 as a larger number of business travelers were responsible for increased demand in China and Australia.
The area saw first and business class fares go up six percent last year and discounted business class prices increased four percent. America was the only country where air fares remained constant throughout the year. It is expected that business travel in the USA will start to increase this year. At the same time, air fares to Asia and Australia will continue climbing as airlines approach optimal capacity and their business becomes less volatile.
Business travelers and company travel planners should act quickly to assure that business trip schedules are made secure, increased demand could make last minute reservations difficult to find. Acting well in advance of a trip might also save money by keeping ahead of possible air fare hikes, while assuring that the business amenities provided by the corporate housing San Diego is well known for are in place and ready to work.
