Encinitas April Street Fair
Head just out of San Diego to Encinitas from April 26 to 27 for the Encinitas April Street Fair. Once you arrive, you can eat unique food, listen to five live music stages, sip drinks from beer garden and visit with more than 450 vendors. In short, this is one lively and unforgettable street fair.

Bacon and Barrels
Stick around the San Diego Embarcadero on May 30 for a brand new event for true bacon lovers, and those who like drinks from Barrels. This popular Santa Barbara events has found a new home in sunny San Diego, and visitors will get to taste imaginative dishes created with bacon.

San Diego Earth Fair
San Diego’s outdoor Balboa Park will celebrate Earth Day with a plethora of activities. Visitors will enjoy a parade, booths, exhibits, music and earth-friendly food. Parents and kids who love the great outdoors will get a real kick out of this festival.

LEGOLAND
Families with kids who are fans of the iconic toy will want to head to LEGOLAND in nearby Carlsbad, California. This theme park is home to more than 60 rides, shows and attractions perfect for young ones. Families will love the nine-foot tall red dinosaur, Bronte. He’s standing outside the park and makes for great family photo opportunities.

Sea World
Kids can get wet in the warm spring sun as they watch and sometimes feed aquatic creatures. Sea World also has a variety of shows starring killer whales and dolphins in addition to animals like sharks, penguins and turtles. There are family passes available, too.

La Jolla Cove
Parents and children alike will enjoy visiting La Jolla Cove. For starters, it’s a gorgeous seaside destination complete with sparkling blue waters, dramatic black rocks and crisp, white sand. Sounds like something out of a movie? That’s because it’s just that beautiful. La Jolla Cove’s also a great spot to snorkel, dive and kayak. Kids also may spot garibaldi and other fish swimming through the waters. Families also might spot sea otters sunning themselves on the shore or on the rocks.
