Let’s face it: San Diego has borderline perfect weather all the time. In fact, the city was named one of the Top Ten Best Places for Winter Travel and for very good reason. But nowhere in the world has completely flawless forecasts. Even paradise island destinations like St. Thomas or Bali can have a rainy day or two, and San Diego’s rain is on its way. So here’s a quick guide for some exciting and playful activities to do in San Diego for when unwelcome cold and rainy days strike.
There’s nothing quite like spending the day in an all-encompassing aquarium, especially in the middle of unsightly weather. Fortunately the Birch Aquarium at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography has enough sea life attractions to keep you busy for days. The massive aquarium is open from nine to five daily, and features a slew of fish, sharks, interactive exhibits and whale watching. Every day around 12:30pm, Birch specialists dive into the various habitats to feed the wildlife. Keeping with the museum theme, the San Diego Natural History Museum and the San Diego Museum of Art are also definitely worth the trip.
For some edgier more adult-friendly fun, you can drive to one of San Diego’s many casinos. The Valley View Casino Center and Viejas Casino all offer a host of high and low stakes card games and slots. The Viejas also has the added bonus of being located on a beautiful, rustic resort. Of course, not all fun that San Diego has to offer is limited to adults. Some great family-friendly indoor entertainment centers in the city include the Miramar Speed Circuit, a speedy go cart track and laser tag center, the Solid Rock Gym, perfect for any rock climbing enthusiast, and you can never go wrong by catching a flick at one of San Diego’s many movie theaters.
No matter what the weather might be, if you’re lucky enough to visit or live in San Diego, you’re going to need the proper housing. Regardless whatever type of living situation are you looking for, PC Housing has the perfect housing solution for you.
