Life as an Indpendent Consultant

With an economy quickly transforming into being more and more dependent on independent and freelance workers, the demand for consultants is as high as ever. Consulting can be a rigorous and taxing job with long hours and a daunting travel schedule. But the good news is that there are many ways to make life as a consultant pain free and enjoyable.

A vital and effective way for consultants to build a solid foundation in their lives is by investing in short-term temporary housing.  For years companies have been relying on short-term housing especially in major metropolitan cities like Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington D.C. and New York.  The reason why temporary housing has been a key part of corporate living is because temporary units allow employees to get fully immersed in city living without the hassle of having to locate a place of residence. The units also come fully equipped with amenities, often times at a luxury level.

A temporary housing unit typically includes a dishwasher, air conditioning, and several pieces of furniture, a patio and balcony. Many of the buildings (such as this one in Chicago) also include features that would be found on four-star resorts like an outdoor swimming pool, BBQ/picnic area and fitness center. These communities are also typically near city hubs in the middle of all culture and nightlife. They are also in close proximity to public transit that will make any commute to work very smooth.

Living in a great community makes any transition to a new city incredibly easy. Now, instead of worrying about locating furniture, a gym and apartment fixtures, you can focus strictly on the business of consulting. Since 1998, PC Housing has served as the hub for temporary, permanent, and vacation housing options, and is the best place to start your search for temporary apartments.
