San Diego’s downtown area has another great attraction for business travelers. Aside from the oceanfront boardwalk, great dining, fantastic weather, and affordable corporate housing San Diego, the downtown area features one of the nation’s finest Little Italy districts.

corporate housing san diegoAccording to the San Diego Little Italy Association, San Diego’s version of Little Italy is one of America’s most vibrant. There is fine dining in its many family-owned restaurants, as you might expect. The area’s authenticity is legitimized by the lasting influence of the estimated 6,000 Italy families who lived there during the 1920s to serve the area’s since-
defunct tuna fishery.

Today, their influence can be felt, tasted, and seen in Little Italy’s many festivals. The biggest is the Little Italy Festa. Held every October, the Festa is the biggest of its type outside of New York. As you can imagine, there is fine Italian food aplenty, as well as a bocce ball tournament and over 150 booths celebrating the Italian lifestyle and heritage.
No less thrilling is the Labor Day Stickball Tournament, wherein local and national teams vie in this classic urban-born version of baseball.

If business travel takes you to San Diego, make the Little Italy district a required stop.
