If you’re going to Sannnnn Frannnnciscooooo
Beautiful, eclectic and vibrant, San Francisco is everything you’ve heard about and more. It truly earns its distinction as an “east coast city on the west coast” from it’s diverse residents and unique architecture. Also, from how dang foggy it can get.
But don’t just take our word for it, you owe it to yourself to experience the city first-hand. With that in mind, we thought we’d share a few of our favorite haunts and eats, places and things that give SF some charm that you just can’t find anywhere else.
Conservatory of Flowers: For Tourists and Lovers
Built all the way back in 1879, this amazing collection of greenery hosts one of country’s largest and most comprehensive collection of orchids as well as thousands of other interesting examples of unique foliage. Perfect for newbie’s on their first visit to the Bay Area or those looking to leave a lasting first impression without succumbing to another lame sushi first-date. The Conservatory of Flowers is the perfect place for both tourists and locals alike, and will provide some amazing photo opportunities.
Zeitgeist: Only the Strong Survive
Known for their incredibly spicy and delicious Bloody Mary’s, Zeitgeist is equally well-known for their no BS reputation. Seriously, they will kick you out for using your cell phone or taking a picture indoors. However, if you can abide by the rules and happen to own a pair of skinny jeans, the craft beer selection is some of the best in town and the outdoor patio filled with picnic tables offers a communal gathering like no other. Do yourself a favor and read up on their Yelp reviews before visiting to make sure you’re prepared, and don’t say we didn’t warn you!
ThinkWalks: For the Intellectual Tour Aficionado
Tired of the same old historical, old-town, standard tour of landmarks and government buildings? ThinkWalks aims to shed light on the great history of San Francisco as only independant, local guides can. “San Francisco’s past is a quaint, colorful tale of eye-rolling stories and weird behaviors to be entertained by, right? Wrong. Hollywood would have it that way, and so would most local politicians. But the truth, when you dig it out of its commercially arranged grave, looks more like a parade of deeply concerned and idealistic innovators, trying things that help average people live more empowered and creative lives.” Intrigued? We bet.
There are countless nooks and crannies to dig around in the Bay Area and these are only a few of our personal favorites. Of course, the convenience of seeing the city from all angles is made possible by where you stay. PC Housing offers multiple furnished apartments and corporate suites in the San Francisco area, so give us a call if you plan on spending some time in the neighborhood and we’ll set you up right.
